Bollywood star wins case on unauthorised AI use
Well-known Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor has recently obtained a court order to prevent the unauthorised use of his image and voice in AI-generated content. This order prohibits the creation of any merchandise or distorted videos that feature his likeness without his explicit consent. Kapoor believes that this victory is essential in protecting the rights of actors as AI technology continues to evolve. The court has ruled in Kapoor's favour, issuing an interim order against 16 defendants. They are now restrained from using any aspect of his persona, including his name, likeness, image, and voice. The ruling applies to any form of content creation—whether for monetary gain or not—such as merchandise, ringtones, or videos.

The former CEO of Tinder is using AI to combat loneliness
Meeno, a chatbot designed to combat loneliness, has secured a funding of US$3.9 million led by Sequoia. The chatbot provides a personal mentor for relationships; its founders include former Tinder CEO Renate Nyborg. Nyborg stated in her post that she became aware of the loneliness of young users during her time at Tinder, mainly Gen Z users (aged 18 to 25). Meeno isn't intended to be a virtual girlfriend, boyfriend, therapist, or coach and will learn from the individual’s app usage to provide better relationship advice. This feature is common among other chatbot apps. Meeno, however, goes a step further by asking for the user's age, ethnicity, and sexual orientation during setup to avoid biased conversations.
