As HBO shows make a comeback on a new streaming platform in India, some of our favourite ones are winding to a close—all in the same month
With Reliance’s JioCinema streaming app finally going the paid premium way, audiences in India have now been granted access to popular films and shows on HBO and Warner Bros. that were taken off Disney+Hotstar in March this year, after the latter lost its streaming rights to their content. The entertainment giant had also lost its IPL streaming license in 2022, with the deal subsequently landing with JioCinema, where cricket matches could be viewed for free.
As HBO and Warner Bros’ stellar content returns for “legitimate” streaming in India via JioCinema Premium, users can now subscribe to it through the app or from a web browser for an annual fee of ₹999. And while the audience explores this exciting new repertory, we take a look at what OTT platforms have to offer in the month of June.
