Depending on your choice of sneakers, here are some of the most anticipated kicks that are set to release during spring/summer 2023.Puma Stewie 1 Re-IntroduceAmerican basketball superstar Breanne Stewart has made history, not just in the Women’s National Basketball Association but also with Puma, by introducing her signature silhouette of sneakers with the brand in 2022. Known as the Puma Stewie 1, the pair of basketball sneakers are currently available in two colourways–neon yellow with black, and bubble-gum pink with purple. The silhouette will continue its expansion in 2023 with the Stewie 1 ‘Re-Introduce’ in the lighter shade of tonal white with Breanna’s logo atop the tongue and a matching mesh sockliner, while the underfoot, a white NITRO-foam cushioned midsole, is paired with a two-tone gum-and-yellow rubber outsole.Jeremy Scott x adidas Forum Hi Wings 4.0Designer Jeremy Scott is bringing every bit of shine to his collaboration with adidas with two new colour options of his popular adidas Forum Wings 4.0 sneakers. While the ‘Triple Black’ and ‘Triple White’ editions were released in 2022, the same editions are getting a glossy makeover in patent leather with an iridescent finish and an opal-inspired heel clip. The black version is perfect to add to the return of Goth fashion, while its white alternative (with a brighter lower heel) is for those who wish to elevate their basics. The newest editions are expected to land in the last week of February.Nike Air JordansNike is making sure to serve the classics for spring 2023 with a strong focus on Air Jordans. Leading the pack is Air Jordan 7 SE in ‘Black Olive’, Air Jordan 9 ‘Olive Concord’, Air Jordan 5 WMNS ‘Mars for Her’, Air Jordan 1 High OG ‘True Blue’, Air Jordan 5 ‘Hornets’, Air Jordan 3GS ‘Marstone’ and Air Jordan 37 Low ‘Lapis’, all set to release in January. The highly anticipated Air Jordan 2 ‘Lucky Green’ will release in February, followed by Air Jordan 2 ‘Cool Grey’, Air Jordan 4 SE ‘Craft’ and Air Jordan 1 High ’85 ‘Black White’ for those who like their sneakers in tones of black, white and grey. Moreover, with the release of ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ comes a collaboration between the two giants, similar to Myles Morales sporting a pair of Air Jordan 1 in the previous movie, ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’. The second pair of Nike Air Jordan 1 High OGs will come in multiple colourways of red, pink, white, black and a subtle touch of yellow and blue, mimicking the colour palette of the animated movie.Terror Squad x Nike Air ForceA few months ago, American rapper Fat Joe took to Instagram to share one of the newest iterations of the forthcoming Terror Squad x Nike Air Force 1 collaboration. Fat Joe is known to flaunt his wide collection of sneakers online and has even worked with Nike in the mid-2000s to create several colourways for Terror Squad x Nike Air Force 1 that were never released to the public. Incidentally, Sotheby’s sold one of the original (sample piece) Terror Squad x Nike Air Force 1 for $4,500 from 2005 which came the classic 'TS' embroidery on the lateral heel and ‘Macho’ spread across the heel tab, replacing the Nike logo.ADER Error x ConverseFresh off the heels on their four-piece collaboration with Birkenstock and their second capsule collection with Zara–both in 2022–the Seoul-based Korean label is giving Converse’s classic Chuck 70 a makeover. The reconstructed ADER error x Converse Chuck70were first spotted in the label’s spring/summer 2023 lookbook. While much of the iconic silhouette is retained, the brand adds its touch through its signature blue hue with a weathered midsole and toe cap.Ambush x Nike Air Force 1After lending a dose of colour to Nike’s Air Force 1 Low SP in the end of 2022, the Japanese brand is rumoured to introduce the monochrome versions in the first half of 2023. The black-and-white additions are constructed in leather and will see the return of the oversized and exaggerated Swooshes that extend past the shoe's heel, a feature dominant in their earlier collaboration with the sneaker giant. While the “Pine Green” and “Game Royal” colourways were released in December 2023, the monochrome version is rumoured to be released in spring 2023.Run the Jewels x Nike SBAmerican hip-hop duo El-P and Killer Mike have created music together as ‘Run the Jewels’ for nearly 10 years now after releasing their critically-acclaimed, self-titled album as a free download in 2013. While they have collaborated on four albums till date, this time around, they are teaming up with Nike to give their own take on Nike SB Dunk Low and High. They were spotted wearing their forthcoming collaboration just a few months ago, featuring a blue-and-pink colour palette, with the group’s famous “hand sign” graphic embroidered across the heels instead of standard Nike SB branding. The new edition of Nike SB is set to drop on 20th April, adding to the brand’s long history of 4/20 drops.Nike LeBron 20 Nike LiferThe Nike LeBron 20 Nike Lifer sneakers are a nod to the king of basketball’s loyalty to Nike with his lifetime contract with the swoosh, signed in 2015. The shoe marks a celebration of LeBron's 20th year with Nike as well as his 20th year in the NBA. In 2023, the king is here to add a few pops of colour to your shoe closet with the newest edition of Nike Lifer in Light Silver, Hyper Royal and Lemon Chiffon, along with the double-stacked swoosh logos. While the low-top silhouette boasts a white knitted upper alongside special “XX” lace dubraes, the insoles feature the signature branding with a speckled midsole.
