8 hair masks to render frizz and damage a thing of the past

Giving these hair masks a shot is like hitting the refresh button

It’s far too easy to damage your hair—styling, straightening, curling, colouring, brushing—they can all do a real number on your strands. If you want to keep your mane sleek, glossy and shiny, you’ll need to coat it with a hair mask to ensure that you zip up any split ends, dry bits or damaged cuticles. Just conditioner won’t do—while the larger molecules are great to smoothen out strands on the surface, they won’t deeply penetrate your hair. Hair masks, on the other hand, have smaller molecules that go all the way in and really get to work. Here are some of our favourite ones.

Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask₹3,800Shop hereOils like rosehip, sweet almond and avocado are blended with biotin and algae extract to soften dry, damaged strands, so that your hair is moisturised and balanced when you wash off the mask. It might have ‘deep conditioning’ in its name but the formula is light-weight and creamy, and hence it doesn’t weigh down even the curliest or finest of manes.

K18—the buzziest new treatment on the block—works to molecularly change and repair polypeptide chains that have been interrupted, and reconnect disulphide bonds that have been broken. This one is different from the rest because you don’t wash it out—post shampooing, you just put a dollop into towel-dried hair and let it work its magic through the day.
